Water Ambulance
For outer island and wilderness calls, we utilize a combination of the State of Washington licensed ambulance P/V Guardian, Island Air Ambulance planes, and Fire Boat Confidence to respond when weather allows. We will sometimes dual dispatch Airlift Northwest direct to the scene as well as the Coast Guard in extreme circumstances.
We have increased our capabilities through:
- EMTs Certified as Marine Rescue Technicians
- Augmented night vision system
- EPIRB outfitting
- Emergency life raft system
- Modification of boat interior to allow for two patients to be transported simultaneously
- Enhanced patient care lighting and storage
- Patient and crew safety equipment
