Flight Nurses

Island Air Ambulance is staffed with specially trained RNs to accompany patients to mainland hospitals aboard fixed wing or boat med evacs from the islands. These Registered Nurses must be Washington State Licensed as RNs, hold a specialty certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and have an EMS background; they must actively be pursuing accreditation as a Certified Flight RN (CFRN) as well. Like our Paramedics, these professionals are also certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced  Life Support, and Trauma Life Support.
