16 Hours

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the perfect course for those who enjoy various outdoor exploits like hiking, kayaking, traveling into remote areas, or live on outer islands. Great for first-timers.

80 Hours

Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is the perfect course for those who enjoy extended and remote hiking, guiding, counseling, kayaking, traveling in remote areas, or live on outer islands.

Image from Wilderness EMT Module (WEMT) Class Wilderness EMT Module (WEMT)

40 Hours

The curriculum for the WEMT expands the scope of practice for most EMT’s. The material is presented at a higher level and includes the adaptation of ambulance and advanced equipment for use in remote environments. Emphasis is also placed on rapid assessment and evacuation skills.

Prerequisites: Must be currently certified as an EMT with CPR.

16 Hours

Wilderness EMT Refresher is a 16 hour re-certification course. Course locations vary throughout the San Juan Islands, each utilizing a combination of classroom time and trips throughout the island wilderness to put your knowledge into an experiential “classroom” on the trail.

Prerequisites: Must be currently certified as a WEMT or WFR with CURRENT CPR.
