Birgit has been an EMT since 2003 and loves going on calls to help patients.
She has been working as a marine mammal scientist for over 25 years worldwide and has been Executive Director of Orca Relief Citizens’ Alliance (ORCA) since 2002. A post doc of the University of British Columbia, she has spent over 20 years researching local and international marine mammals, and in particular killer whales.
Birgit resides on San Juan Island with her daughter, Laura, and a large number of animals. She is fascinated with photography, Photoshop and creating things.
