I grew up on the Coastline of Cornwall England, and the coastline eventually led me to San juan Island. About 6 years here and 4 years ago started wildland fire training. Then kept on going through structural firefighting, Hazardous materials, vehicle rescue, fireboat Confidence, rope rescue, eventually building up to what’s been most challenging for me and that was training as an EMT.
My other jobs on island include repairing boats, some arborist work, back up caretaker for Brown Island and maintaining a hydrophone array for listening to whales at Lime Kiln point.
