Kaitlyn Johnson

Logistics Coordinator,

After finishing college on the east coast, Kaitlyn moved out to San Juan Island to enjoy a summer with a childhood friend. About three years later she decided to join a fall EMT class in Friday Harbor. Not knowing that she would enjoy it so much, her life has spun in a new direction from a BA in photography to hopes of becoming a more integrated part of the San Juan Island Aid Unit. Kaitlyn is always eager to continue her education at seminars, take classes and respond to calls.

Lainey Volk

Director of Education,

Lainey leads our efforts in injury and accident education and prevention here at EMS. She has received numerous awards for her efforts in heading up our public education campaign, teaching thousands in CPR and first aid, and coordinating our car seat and helmet program. In her spare time, she enjoys sailing, flying and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ben Waldron

Ben was born and raised on San Juan Island, and he joined San Juan EMS in 2007. Ben gained his EMT training as a Navy Diver, additionally receiving his National Registry designation.
