San Juan Island EMS Officers

Officers are selected for their experience and expertise in the various areas of oversight needed within San Juan Island EMS.

Chief Medical Officer: MICHAEL SULLIVAN, MD Assures ongoing medical excellence in patient care and quality oversight

Communications Officer: CADY DAVIES Guards medical information integrity and sensitive records in physical and electronic formats along with assurance of compliance with Federal Red Flag Rules. Serves as the Public Information Officer and SJCPHD Board Recording Secretary.

Executive Officer: JIM COLE Administers ongoing administrative effort and supports the personnel in accomplishing the mission, vision, and values of the agency.

Field Training Officer: RYAN NELSON Develops and coordinates a program of advancing education and professionalism for our EMTs.

Preparedness Officer: BEN WALDRON Prepares agency to respond to limited mass incidents that will stretch our system capability with both internal and external readiness efforts.

Prevention Officer: LAINEY VOLK Offers the community a wide range of educational opportunities and programs to prevent and lessen the impact of illnesses and injuries. Manages the county American Heart Association Community Training Center (CTC) and the San Juan School of Wilderness EMS.

Quality Officer: TRAVIS POTTER Coordinates agency efforts across disciplines to guide our Continuous Quality Improvement process with emphasis on safety and excellence in patient care.

Supply Officer: KAITLYN JOHNSON Maintains adequate and appropriate levels of medical equipment for anticipated response and mass casualty events.

Training Officer: WEYSHAWN KOONS Instructs and coordinates initial and ongoing education of our EMS personnel to the highest standards with emphasis on meeting or exceeding State of Washington DOH requirements.  Oversees ongoing requirements of EMTs and paramedics.

Transport Officer: DEANNA BANRY Coordinates scheduled non-emergency transportation requests for the agency.

Wilderness Officer: NOAH WALDRON Educates and prepares community members to prevent and treat accidents and illnesses in remote environments and helps prepare outer island residents to be better prepared.
