San Juan Island EMS

As an increased benefit to our residents, Island Air Ambulance is employing specially trained RNs to accompany patients to mainland hospitals aboard fixed wing or boat med evacs from the islands. These Registered Nurses must be Washington State Licensed as RNs, hold a specialty certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and have an EMS background; they must actively be pursuing accreditation as a Certified Flight RN (CFRN) as well. Like our Paramedics, these professionals are also certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Advanced Pediatric Life Support.
