EMT Margaret Longley honored at Notable Women’s Luncheon

Margaret Longley was honored yesterday afternoon at a Soroptimist Notable Women’s Luncheon.  She received a fellowship award to aid her in her endeavors while she attends Duke University’s Physician Assistant program.  Margaret is a senior EMT with San Juan Island EMS and a flight EMT with Island Air.  Margaret began her training as an EMT in 2005 and has since then shown other talents and interests in film, culinary arts and medicine.   We are proud to have such a dedicated EMT receive this award.  Margaret will be greatly missed when she leaves us this fall but we are excited that she is pursuing her passion for medicine and hope she returns to the island.
