Island Air Flight Tracking and Communications are State of the Art

Island Air Ambulance has installed state of the art flight tracking technology aboard the plane.  With this Outerlink tracking technology, we are able to safely pinpoint the exact location of the aircaft every 30 seconds. This allows our Air Command  dispacth center to provide precise ETAs to requesting agencies and mainland ambulance services.  It also allows for immediate action if there is a problem with the flight or change of course due to weather.

Additionally, the aircraft’s frequency is hooked up through cutting edge ROIP technology to allow real time communication between the cockpit, ground operations, and Air Command dispatch.  The medical crews can also be voice patched through to a ground medical control physician or receiving hospital through their headsets, allowing them to focus on the patient’s needs at all times.
