James Bryner
James Bryner BA, RN, CEN, EMT-P is a Flight Nurse/Medic for us and was born and raised in California where he obtained a Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Seeking a way to help people in a more direct, hands-on fashion, he went back to school and received his nursing degree in 1988 from Cabrillo Community College in Aptos, CA.
James has worked in many different hospital Emergency Departments locally including Skagit Valley, Virginia Mason, and here on island at the IIMC. He is currently working in Anacortes at Island Hospital where he received his CEN earlier this year. Most memorable was his stint for almost a year in Kauai, HI at Wilcox Memorial Hospital ER. He still misses going surfing or for a swim just before going to work!
James’ first love is his beautiful wife Sheryl (and her two awesome sons) whom he met while here at San Juan EMS during an EMT class. His other passion is cycling and has toured large parts of western Europe and even larger parts of SE Asia.
